Colorado Springs was in full swing with their annual Colorado Springs Spree. This year's highlight was Country Star Billy Dean, a man whose fun, upbeat personality was quickly embraced by fans. Although the weather was not cooperating Billy kept the crowd engaged throughout his set by entertaining us with his music and sharing stories of his life and his love of Nashville.
After twelve albums and eleven Top 10 singles, it's easy to see how Dean is definitely in his comfort zone while he performs. His fiery setlist included; “Billy the Kid", Brown Gravy”, “It's What I Do” "Tryin' To Hide a Fire In The Dark", "Somewhere In My Broken Heart", "We Just Disagree", "Men Will Boys" "If There Hadn't Been You" and several others including a few songs off his new CD "A Man Of Good Fortune". Proud of his country heritage you couldn't help but tap your foot and sing along when he busted out singing "Thank God I'm A Country Boy". Nothing but huge smiles all the way around!
A Billy Dean show has something for most every country fan, from his many up-tempo tunes to his beautiful ballads. He really is an enormous talent and a great singer/songwriter. His vocals were spot on the entire show. His storytelling makes you laugh and
his music makes you smile. He just makes you feel good and that makes his show indisputably terrific! If you get to see him perform ask him to tell the story about his ex mother-in-law and Christmas!
