Bruno Mars + Red Rock Amphitheater = Frickin' Awesome!
It was all there; the R&B influence, the Motown moves, the sing-along favorites that never wanted for energy or intensity. The Moonshine Jungle Tour was built to deliver the perfect night of entertainment and entertain us it did! The sold-out show opens with Bruno appearing through fog and immediately kicks off with the hit “Moonshine,” which in turn had everyone on their feet shaking what their Mama gave them.
Bruno is a little dynamo with a powerhouse voice that's distinctive and head turning. He is James Brown, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley all rolled into one neat package. With an old-fashion showbiz razzle dazzle Bruno Mars and his Hooligans deliver. They are what a professional band is all about. Modern, catchy and addictive, a band with an act that refuses to be boring. All the members were in top form - running, jumping and dancing across the stage, giving the cheering crowd everything they wanted and more.
Sitting in one of the best outdoor venue's in the country (Red Rocks Amphitheater) with Bruno Mars crooning was like a groovy windows-down volume-up summer kind of night. It was PERFECT!
It wasn't just the songs, it was the performance's - his band the Hooligans that accompanioned him were fantastic. From saxophone, to trumpet, to trombone, to keyboardist, to the drummer, to all the slick dance moves, every single performer looked like they were having the time of their life and in return played a spectacular show.
Kicking off the night with "Moonshine," "Natalie" and "Treasure" the crowd were on their feet. The motown moves were so spot on you really have to experience it. Half way through the show Bruno Mars was giving advice on how to treat your woman with things to say; it was both comical and endearing. His unique way of introducing his band was another enjoyable aspect of the show. He started talking to a girl in the audience then proceeded to introduce his bandmates by having them use their best pick up lines on her! What a rip!
The Moonshine Jungle tour is quite a show. Bruno and the Hooligans, never missed a beat, a note, or a step. It was a fun lively show where he does a little bit of everything, pop, old school R&B and plenty of Michael Jackson moves. We were treated to a kick-ass drum solo by Bruno as a lead in to the phenomenal encore.
OH WHAT A SHOW!
The setlist included such songs as "Moonshine," "Natalie," "Treasure," "Money," "Billionaire," "Marry You," "If I knew/It Will Rain," "Runaway Baby," "Young Girls," a beautiful, soulful rendition of "When I Was Your Man," an extended frickin' awesome rendition of "Grenade" and "Just the Way You Are." The grand finale was roaring versions of “Locked Out Of Heaven” which shot off a confetti canon with tons of confetti taking flight across the amphitheater and the last song of the night “Gorilla" came complete with some pretty awesome pyrotechnics.
Bruno Mars is funny, handsome, multi-talented, definitely devilish and mischievous and it all comes out on stage. He moves with his own music just like liquid. The radio favorites, the motown moves, a few well-timed thrusts and some of the coolest swagger you could ever see was the formula that fueled the party for the audience. It was a hand-waving dancefest, spirited and upbeat as we all
sang along in the cool night breeze. Truth is... The entire concert, the soul, the energy, the love, created one of the best "OH WHAT A SHOW" performance I have ever seen.
Favorite Moment: Giving the men in the audience pick-up advice! Favorite Performance: Just The Way You Are!
