Randy Houser
The Colorado State Fair kicked off with a bang Friday night as thousands of fans rocked out with Randy Houser. It was easy to tell right out of the get go that he was at the top of his game. His voice, both soulful and gritty was cool and crisp, and other times warm and soothing. He has a totally awesome sound. Combine that with his exceptional stage presence, we found ourselves smack in the middle of one helluva party!
Coming out strong with "Sunshine On The Line" he just continued
blasting the eager crowd with fiesty songs only to be followed by delicate tunes that break your heart.
When Randy sings a ballad he proves that songs have the ability to move us. Like when he downshifted into a slower flow with "Anything Goes." Not only was it a crowd pleaser, but you got the sense that he was definitely channeling an old soul. You could easily hear the heart felt emotion in his voice on every note. For me, this is the way music should be. It's hearing that feeling inside your soul and all that goes with it... Randy makes it real, which made "Anything Goes" easily a set highlight, as was one of his first hits as a songwriter (made famous by Trace Adkins), "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk!
Some of my favorites of the night were "Growin' Younger," "Lets Not Let It," Goodnight Kiss," "Runnin' Out Of Moonlight" and "Boots On."
Bottom Line - Randy Houser continues to establish himself as one of the most exciting performers on the country scene. With his incredible natural charisma and powerful voice, a Randy Houser show is a no brainer!
