ZZ Top was at the top of their game during a jam-packed event center at the Colorado State Fair. Since 1970 the band consisted of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbons (the band's leader, main lyricist and musical arranger), and drummer Frank Beard. This show had it all... Great vocals, great music and all around great entertainment! After 45+ years of packing stadiums, arenas and amphitheatres all over the world, ZZ Top are showing no signs of slowing down. This was evident to every fan in attendence. The trio’s performances came together beautifully with Gibbons pumping up the crowd.
Bringing their special feisty brand of music to Colorado they started their set wuth an oldie, but oh what a goodie. Kicking the night off with "Got Me Under Pressure" had the crowd on their feet. You were either singing along, dancing in the aisles or just cheering the band on. To continue the vibe they followed up with "Waiting on the Bus", "Jesus Just Left Chicago" before barreling into the upbeat radio favoirtie "Gimme All Your Lovin'. Gibbons talked about Jimi Hendrix telling us how he taught them a thing or two before doing a loose but rousing rendition of Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady”. The 18 song setlist also included "My Head's in Mississippi", "Just Got Paid", "Tush" and of course next to all the fabulous guitar riffs and monster jams it all comes together for fan favorites (easily the set highlight) "
"Sharp Dressed Man' and "Legs".
In a nutshell...ZZ Top has not lost any of their charisma, energy, voice or style.
The show started and ended strong. It was just three cool dudes doing their thing! It's definitely a performance not to be missed! This was a fun night with nostalgia reigning supreme!
