On Tuesday, April 12th, RME was out at the All American Tour featuring headliners Hinder, who are out on the road in support of their latest album release "All American Nightmare". The new LP features the hot new tracks "All American Nightmare", "Put That Record On" and Striptease. I think this LP delivers on all 10 tracks (16 tracks on the explicit version). It really does make you crank up the volume...
The tour also featured several other bands in the rock world; Royal Bliss, The Envy and Black Stone Cherry. Overall the line-up was just amazing and the three opening bands did a great job of getting the party started!
Hinder definitely stole the show as they ensured that the party kept going. They knew how to keep the adrenaline flowing down to the last song, last note, last bow! I loved how they were able to connect with their audience. Bouncing from side to side of the stage Winkler made sure to connect with absolutely everyone, no matter where you were situated in the theater.
Adorned in a Steven Tyler-esque scarve, lead singer Austin Winkler went non-stop the entire set. His facial expressions were fun to watch. He attacked every song full-force, regardless of whether he was singing the bands hard rock anthems or one of their power ballads. With enough vocal power to make each song unique, distinct, and memorable, Winkler was right on! He never missed a beat.
After teasing the crowd with some new material from "All American Nightmare", (which we LOVED), it was time for the hits! The crowd was so ready to sing-a-long. The bands solid set list choices met with screams, cheers, and plenty of fists in the air, or as Winkler was fond of saying..."Come on, get those devil horns up in the air"!
I struck up a conversation with some members of the audience and one man repeatedly kept saying, "Hinder F@@king Rocks. They know how to put on a F@@king Rock Show"! He said he'd been to serveral Hinder shows and they reminded him of 70's Aerosmith. When he said that it made me take a look at the audience and not surprisingly, there were a lot of old time rock and rollers there. My new friend was only 52 years young. So at the risk of being redundant, I have to agree with him... Hinder sure puts on one F@@KING Rock Show!
Among the songs for the night were:
2 Sides of Me Up All Night Use Me What Ya Gonna Do Striptease Better Than Me How Long All American Nightmare Hey ho Lips of an Angel Waking up the devil Room 21 Bad M*therf***er Put that record on And for their encore song... Get Stoned.
Get Stoned totally killed it! What a way to end a perfect evening!
Hinder is an American rock band from Oklahoma first formed in 2001 by drummer Cody Hanson, guitarist Joe Garvey, and singer Austin Winkler. The band was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2007. They've come a long way since the release of their first album, Extreme Behavoir in 2005. Take it to the Limit was released in 2008 and in 2010 they released All American Nightmare. These guys are so talented and so worth seeing in person. If you can only get to one show this year..make it a Hinder one! They are definitely a MUST SEE band.
